Floral Waters, also known as Hydrolats or Hydrosols, are waters that come from steam distilling botanicals. What used to be a by-product of the essential oil industry have found various uses in a wide variety of products. The waters are saturated with the essential oil during the steam distillation process to give the odor of the botanical in the water even though there is very little oil actually in the water.
NOTE: Hydrosols are not meant to be used as drinking water!
