Rosemary Antioxidant CO2 Extract, powder INCI-name: Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract [CO2] Produced by a combination of supercritical CO2 extraction under use of natural carbon dioxide and ethanol extraction. Faintly yellow-green, fine-grain powder with characteristic smell and taste, grain size < 200 µm. 1 kg extract = 10 - 8 kg dried rosemary leaves corresponding to an extraction yield of about 10 - 12 %. Active ingredients are antioxidative efficient phenolic diterpenes with carnosolic acid as main component: 24 - 26 %. Also contains triterpenoic acids (ursolic acid and oleanolic acid) with antioxidative, antiinflammatory, and antimicrobial effects. water < 5 % Used for stabilization of fatty oils, carotenoids, etc. against oxidation; because of its fine-grain structure it is especially suitable for incorporation into solid or semi-solid products in the food industry (dressings, meat, sausages, snacks,etc.) in cosmetic and pharmaceutic preparations clean label declaration as spice extract without registration number. Usage level is 0.02 – 0.1 % in the end product. The product is 100 % natural and contains no additives. It is conform to the Codex-Alimentarius definition of natural ingredients.
