The proper way to do any formulation work is by MASS only, not volume. This scale will measure up to 500 grams with a readability of 0.01 gram. The scale is portable and battery powered. You can also change the unit from grams to ounces with the touch of a button. It is very easy to compound your formulas with this scale.
